Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring a young, lost Chocolate Lab mix

In our Leigh's Lost and Found today, our featured dog's high energy is likely what landed him at animal control.

The young Chocolate Lab mix is a very athletic runner and is probably pretty hard to keep contained.

"She was actually found by some people over on Battlefield. She was running around the Essex Place Apartments, just kind of in the parking lot, in that general area. They brought her out to us. They walked around the complex and went to a few of the apartments but couldn't find out who she belonged to."

Animal control believes the female dog may be mixed with a Pointer or a Heeler. She has some white on her chest and white freckles on her paws.

Someone has been taking care of her since she's in great condition and well socialized, but she didn't have anything on her to identify her.

Shelter coordinator Josh Doss says she's likely just a year old and that's why she has so much puppy energy.

If you recognize today's featured dog or if you've lost a pet, be sure to call animal control at 417-833-3592. You can also check out their website to fill out a lost pet form.

Another great resource is the Leigh's Lost and Found facebook page. Anyone can post a lost animal on there any time so be sure to like the page.
