Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring what animal control calls a 'Heinz 57' dog

In our Leigh's Lost and Found report, we're featuring what animal control calls a Heinz 57 dog.

Basically, that means they don't really know what breed the dog is. But this is their shelter coordinator's best guess.

"We're guessing she's some kind of mix. Hound, Pointer, maybe Beagle and Terrier mixed in there as well. She's cute, we do know that for sure. She's brindle and white but she's got some weird patterns of white through her."

Josh Doss says the female dog was found on February first, running loose in the 3200 block of west Lynn.

She's about two to three years old and appears to be in heat, which is likely the reason she got loose.

She looks on the thin side, but Josh says she's just compact and muscular and she's in good condition.

If you recognize this dog or if you've lost a pet, be sure to call animal control at 417-833-3592. You can also visit their website to fill out an online lost pet form.

Another great resource is the Leigh's Lost and Found facebook page. Anyone can post a lost or found animal on there so be sure to like the page and share it with your friends.
