Lightning strike kills 12 cattle on farm in Phelps County

Overnight storms took a toll in Phelps County.
The Hagen family made a sad and costly discovery on their farm in Edgar Springs on Wednesday morning. Lightning hit a tree, and electrocuted 12 head of beef cattle standing under it to get out of the rain.
Farmers are optimists - the Hagens pointed out to KY3 News that they still have one herd bull to produce replacements.
