HOLLISTER, Mo. -- Missouri Route 76 between 65 and Lake Shore drive will re-open by 5:00 p.m. Saturday, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.
The road was previously closed due to a landslide, Friday morning. Heavy rains caused the shoulder of 76 to collapse and slide down the hill on the Lake Taneycomo side of the roadway.
MoDOT says their geologists and engineers examined the area and determined the slide did not undermine the integrity of the road, and are working to reinforce the shoulder of the roadway.
Crews also worked to replace and build-up the shoulder of the affected area.
