The body of 73 year old Carroll Ford was found in his shop last night around 7pm. And has left the rest of his family... devastated.
"We're struggling. When we thought he had fallen or something natural like a heart attack... things like that happen" says Lakin Janke, Ford's granddaughter, "It wasn't as hard to accept that he was gone until they told us that it was a homicide. Obviously he didn't stab himself in the chest. It wasn't hard until we hear that."
Ford's granddaughter says that he had just hired a farmhand to help him -- and that may be who is responsible for the incident.
"I don't know if someone he worked with got into it, it looked like it was personal. The police believe it was someone he knew, someone he didn't think would hurt him."
Janke said her grandpa didn't sugar coat things -- and like things a certain way....
"Things have a place, have a way, things have to be done the right way everytime, and his way is the right way.
But she added -- that he had a helping heart
"He would do anything for and that he loved his family. A lot of neighbors would come over if they had problems with their tractor or whatever. As you can see, he has a lot of barns, he was a master worker. He could make anything out of anything. Everybody appreciated that from him, he was always doing something to help people."
And his untimely death -- has the family wondering why.
"Sometimes he didn't care what people thought, but that doesn't mean he deserved this. Nobody deserves to die like that."
There have not been any arrests made in this case -- but we will keep you updated as we get new information.
