Go Health Urgent Care, a nationwide chain has partnered with Mercy for its move into the Ozarks. Springfield is its smaller market yet. The company is known for its locations in much larger cities such as New York City, Portland, and San Francisco.
"We really hope this new facility is what the community needs. It is what they have been asking for," said John Swope, President of Mercy Health Springfield Communities. "Mercy brings over 125 years of experience and caring for this community. Go Health brings a new level of technology and tremendous service.
The project is designed to help ease the burden on Mercy's Emergency room while offering more accessible and more affordable medical care for ailments and injuries that don't necessarily require emergency treatment.
Latz said, "The idea is to bring this mountain to them rather than them going to the mountain and have an opportunity for them to be cared for in a manner that they choose. It puts the patient back in control of that experience."
On Saturday, GoHealth opened its new facilities, one located in the Battlefield Marketplace at 900 E. Battlefield Road, and the other in Magers Crossing at Republic Road and Cox Road.
