MoDOT asks travels to avoid I-44 in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Several snowy crashes in the St. Louis area has made travel on I-44 hazardous. And MoDOT is asking you to just avoid it.

The city received several inches of snow Friday into Saturday morning. That led to many crashes. Drivers sat for hours on I-44 as crews attempted to clear the roads.

MoDOT is asking eastbound travelers to seek a southern route. MoDOT says it still expects delays to last six to eight hours the St. Louis area Saturday. For travelers already near St. Louis a detour at Exit 251 near Pacific is advised.
