Nonprofits honored for work in the Springfield area community

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The area's nonprofit organizations received honors Tuesday night for service to the Springfield area.

KY3's Sara and Ethan Forhetz emceed the event. Judges selected winners from 125 different entries.


Youth Leader of the Year: Seth Cote volunteered more than 500 hours, helping coordinate nearly 200 projects in the community.

Arvest Bank Communitarian Corporate Citizenship Award: ESC Consulting Engineers

Nonprofit Board Member of the Year: Chris Shaefer of CASA of Southwest Missouri

CEO/Executive of the Year: Dr. Tricia Derges with Lift Up Springfield

Nonprofit Organization of the Year Small: Friends of the Springfield-Greene County Library

Nonprofit Organization of the Year Medium: The Pregnancy Care Center

Nonprofit of the Year Large: Convoy of Hope
