On Your Side tried to get answers from the contractor accused of stealing thousands from homeowners. Jon Rush made his first court appearance in Stone County following his arrest after an On Your Side Investigation.
Jon Rush has felony charges in Stone and Taney counties. Deputies and homeowners say he made fraudulent invoices. Our investigation started months ago when he was wanted and on the run.
For weeks On Your Side tried to get consumer questions answered.
On Your Side sent several emails to Jon, his wife and his attorney. When that did not work Ashley Reynolds approached Rush as he walked out of the Stone County courthouse.
Reynolds asked if customers will get their money back. Rush did not respond to her questions.
"Still didn't see no remorse from him," said Jim Bradford.
Jim and Dianne Bradford were in the courtroom.
"He forged documents and embezzled $5,000 from me," said Bradford.
They watched Rush stand with his attorney and tell the judge not guilty.
Five customers were in the courtroom. In total, they tell On Your Side they overpaid Rush by more than $175,000. Rush is scheduled to be back in court at the end of the month.
