TANEY COUNTY, Mo. -- One of the oldest homes in Taney County, Mo., it sat high on a bluff overlooking Lake Taneycomo. Lyle Owen, an economics professor, built it for his family. In 2001, the City of Branson, over the objections of many business people, bought the land to become a city park. In 2015, fire gutted the house. It was too badly damaged to restore. KY3's Ed Fillmer visited the property in 2001.
