Police arrest caregiver in connection to the death of central Missouri boy
Police in Jefferson City, Mo. made an arrest in the death of a central Missouri boy.
Police found the body of Darnell Gray, 4, Tuesday. Police searched for the boy after family reported him missing from their home last week.
Cole County prosecutors charged Quatavia L. Givens, 26, with first-degree child abuse resulting in death. Police say Givens was the caregiver of the boy the night he disappeared. Investigators say the boy's father was at work at the time of the disappearance.
Jefferson City police Lt. David Williams said Darnell Gray's body was discovered about noon in Jefferson City Tuesday. Williams said it was too early to tell how the boy died. He would not discuss the condition of the body.
The FBI is assisting with the investigation.
