Police arrest student for threat made against Branson High School

BRANSON, Mo. -- The Branson Police Department arrested a Branson High School student for making a terroristic threat against the high school.

The police department received the report of the threat Tuesday night. Officers immediately launched an investigation and quickly located, identified and interviewed the suspect. Police arrested the student without incident in Kirbyville, Mo. Police found no weapons at the home.

Police say there are no indications of involvement by additional people. Detectives are continuing the investigation.

The Branson Police Department is working closely with the Branson School District as school safety is among the highest priorities for both organizations. The police department takes all threats seriously and is committed to allocating all necessary resources to ensure the safety and security of students and the community.

Police ensure there is no current threat to the safety of students. However, officers will provide extra security.
