Police make significant marijuana bust in Nixa
Police in Nixa have made the most significant marijuana bust in several years.
The bust happened Saturday. The Nixa Police Department executed a search warrant at 210 W. Walnut Street, in which a marijuana grow operation was found. The investigation resulted in the seizure of drug paraphernalia and an estimated 25 pounds of marijuana.
“It’s been a lot of years since we’ve shut down a marijuana growing operation of this size,” says Nixa Police Chief Jimmy Liles. “It may not be a lot compared to industrial growing operations, but it’s pretty significant for our department. I’m proud of our officers and investigators who worked this case to get these drugs out of the community.”
Steven and Shirley McMullen faces a felony of delivery of controlled substance except 35 grams or less of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid and a misdemeanor of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
