President of the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District resigns

SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. -- Turmoil continues at the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District as the president of executive board has resigned from his position.

Brian Layman announced his resignation Thursday afternoon, just four days after their Fire Chief, Dennis Reilly, announced he would officially resign from the department in October. Reilly cited issues with board Treasurer, Bob Hemen, who was censured for inappropriate behavior in late July.

We are working to find out if Layman's resignation is also related to those tensions.
