A Texas County, Mo. man accused of murder is being held without bond after a shooting this week.

Prosecutors filed a first-degree murder charge against Michael A. Nugent, 22, Friday morning.

According to Texas County Sheriff Scott Lindsey, deputies were called to the intersection of Highway 17 and Route W in Midvale around 7 a.m. Oct. 10 for a man lying on the ground. The man appeared to have been shot.

The victim, identified as Crue D. Ridenoure, was able to tell emergency crews some of what happened before he was taken away in an ambulance. Ridenoure, 30, of Willow Springs, later died at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

Texas County deputies and the Missouri State Highway Patrol searched for Nugent, who had been named as a suspect, and eventually found and arrested him in Howell County.

"This crime involved two individuals that were known to each other," Sheriff Lindsey said. "There are likely multiple reasons that led the suspect to seek a violent confrontation with the victim."

Nugent also faces two unlawful use of a weapon felonies in the case.

He will enter a plea Oct. 15.

Lindsey says investigators want more information from anyone who was near the Highway 17 and Route W intersection before police got there. You can call the Texas County Sheriff's Office at 417-967-4165.
