Ripley Entertainment settles several lawsuits from deadly Ride the Ducks sinking

Ripley Entertainment reports it has settled several lawsuits involved in the July 19, 2018 deadly Ride the Duck boat crash on Table Rock Lake.

The tourist boat sinking killed 16 passengers and a crew member during a thunderstorm.

Ripley Entertainment filed documents in federal court in early July showing more than half of the lawsuits have either been settled or settlement documents are being prepared. The lawsuits settled include many involving the Coleman family. Nine members of the family died in the sinking.

Ripley Entertainment released this statement to KY3 News:

“The report that was filed with the court demonstrates Branson Ride The Ducks’ continuing commitment to work with the victims and families who were affected by the unprecedented storm and resulting accident that occurred last July. While we know lives lost cannot be replaced, the report outlines that we have reached settlements with many of the families, and continue to work with others. Out of respect for the privacy of the families, we will not discuss the details of any settlement.”

Ripley Entertainment previously said it does not plant to operate the duck boats this year.
