KIRBYVILLE, Mo Crews from several Taney and surrounding counties spent the night fighting a large fire at a warehouse in Kirbyville.
The fire broke out at the Victorian Heart warehouse at about 9 p.m. Thursday. Fire fighters said the building was loaded with quilts, wooden pallets and plastics. The fire grew out of control because the building had no sprinkler system. Firefighters also had to deal with wind and rain as they tried to bring the flames under control.
Fire commanders on the scene say they have not determined the cause of the fire, but it appears at firs glace to be accidental. An investigator from the State Fire Marshal’s office will arrive later.
The business was closed, so no one was injured. One firefighter did suffer a sprained ankle.
