Sheriff: Armed robbery attempt in Laclede County leads to shooting, man airlifted to Springfield

LACLEDE COUNTY, Mo. -- A Laclede County man is in stable condition at a Springfield hospital after a shooting in Lebanon on Thursday morning.

The Laclede County Sheriff's Office says Noah M. Houston, 19, of Laclede County, was shot in the abdomen after what investigators believe was an attempted robbery.

The incident occurred at Houston's home in the 18000 block of Jaybird Lane around 11:00 a.m.

Another resident in the home brought Houston to the Break Time at the corner of Jefferson and Lynn. First responders arrived and the victim was taken by helicopter to a Springfield hospital.

A person of interest has been identified.

“The victim and the shooter know each other, and we are currently working with other agencies to locate the suspect," said Laclede County Sheriff David Millsap. "We will be presenting a probable cause statement to the Laclede County Prosecutor in an attempt to get a warrant issued."

Sheriff Millsap stated there is no direct threat to the community.
