Storm Prediction Center issues Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the Ozarks

The Storm Prediction Center issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the eastern half of the Ozarks.

The watch lasts until 8 p.m. Wednesday. It covers Baxter, Boone, Carroll, Fulton, Izard, Newton (Ark.), Searcy, Sharp and Stone (Ark.) Counties in Arkansas.

A line of thunderstorms will push through the Ozarks Wednesday afternoon and a bit into the evening, bringing heavy rain for our southern Missouri and northern Arkansas counties. Flooding is a concern as rain will continue to train over the same areas for the next few days. Rainfall accumulations of 2-4 inches is possible through the weekend.
