Strike ends at Mount Vernon plant; workers returned Monday

MOUNT VERNON, Mo. -- Workers at a manufacturing plant in Mount Vernon returned to the job Monday after reaching a new labor deal.

The strike at Reyco Granning Suspensions involved more than 100 employees. Teamsters Union Local 245, based in Springfield, represented the employees who walked off the job on August 14. The union had said they were not satisfied with a reduction in the amount the company planned to pay for health insurance.

Reyco Granning makes front end suspensions for ambulances and recreational vehicles. Its plant is behind the TA truck stop on the northeast corner of Interstate 44 at Missouri 39.
