The Sunrise Beach, Mo. Fire Department is investigating a deadly fire on the Fourth of July.

The fire happened Wednesday around 2:30 p.m. at a home off of Range Lane. Firefighters arrived to a single-family house well-involved in a fire. The homeowners first escaped the fire with respiratory injuries. One of them inside the home later died. Investigators have not released the name of the victim.

Investigators believe the fire was accidental. The state fire marshal's office is assisting.

Units from Mid County, Northwest, Osage Beach, and Gravois Fire Protection Districts assisted in fighting the fire. Firefighters say the heat made battling the fire difficult.
