Taste of the Ozarks: Sneaky Healthy Brownies
Black Bean Brownies

¾ cup canned, no salt added, black beans (rinsed)
¾ cup unsweetened applesauce
3 oz chopped chocolate (or chocolate chips)
½ cup cane sugar
¼ cup cocoa powder
½ cup whole wheat flour
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
½ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
Preheat oven to 350°F and line a square baking dish with foil (or spray with non-stick cooking spray).
In a food processor, combine beans, chocolate, and applesauce until smooth.
Add in sugar and cocoa powder and process to combine.
In a separate bowl, combine remaining ingredients.
Add the dry ingredients to the food processor and mix until smooth with little chocolate chunks.
Pour batter into a square dish and bake for 15-20 minutes. Watch for the cracks to develop in the batter, and for the edges to become puffy.
Let brownies cool in the baking dish. Cut and serve.
