Tip leads to arrests in two thefts from C.A.R.E. animal shelter near Aurora

MARIONVILLE, Mo. -- The Barry County Sheriff's says it has recovered items stolen from the C.A.R.E. animal shelter near Aurora.

Authorities also made arrests after receiving a tip the stolen items were in the Marionville area.

Thieves struck the facility twice just before the Christmas holiday. The stole more than $6,000 from two barns. They also stole a security camera the animal shelter added after the first theft.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department and the Aurora Police Department assisted in the investigation.
