The Logan-Rogersville Fire Department was called out to a side road near highways 60 & 125 to a report of a garbage fire around 3:30 Tuesday morning. This is located just north of the Kum & Go Gas Station in Rogersville.

The caller was the garbage truck driver that dumped the flaming trash on the side of the road. The Assistant Fire Chief with the Logan-Rogersville Fire Department, Tim Clarkson, said the driver told him it's protocol to dump trash in these incidents.

Clarkson also said the weather was a huge concern this morning. "As the wind continues today, it's going to stay dry so just stay cautious... as to wood stoves and fire places, you see cigarettes get thrown out the window and you kind of cringe," he said.

No one was injured during this incident and the fire has been put out. Fire crews stayed on the scene until clean up crews arrived to watch for hot spots or any flare ups.
