UPDATE: Businesses team up to clean up shoddy tree trim mess

Tree trimmers left a huge mess in a woman's yard. Many saw the story and wanted to help.

Ryan Lawn and Tree and Pinegar Construction teamed up to make a wrong a right.

Riki Lipe hired Show-Me Tree Service. They didn't finish the job.

Show-Me Tree Service has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. The company does not have a business license to work in Springfield. Crews went door-to-door.

Folks with Pinegar Construction and Ryan Lawn and Tree donated their services.

"It's not necessarily the time of year. it's being able to help out the community and help someone who was taken advantage of," said Sean Pinegar with Pinegar Construction

"We are out here trying to make a good name for the tree companies and we don't like having a bad name out there for us because we are not all like that... just a few bad apples," said Caleb Bolda with Ryan Lawn and Tree.

It only took about an hour of skilled elbow grease, tools and compassion to serve as a reminder we can always help our neighbor.

"If we can only remember that, when something bad happens -- just hang on. God is in charge and he's going to turn this around," said Riki Lipe.

Show-Me Tree Service has not returned our calls for comment. We notified the city of Springfield about this situation. A city employee told Contact KY3 ... they will call Show-Me Tree Service and remind them, they must have a business license.
