VA looking to fill about 80 jobs before Springfield clinic opens

The Veterans Affairs clinic in Springfield is looking to hire about 80 people before it opens its doors this fall.

The Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks held a job fair on Friday from 8:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. There are positions available in a wide variety of fields, including nursing, mental health, and administration.

VA workers say that the benefits are great, but that helping veterans is the most rewarding part of the job.

"Most people who come see us and want to work at the VA, it really seems to be that they have a love of veterans and taking care of people who have served us," says VA Public Affairs Officer Wanda Shull. "Having a chance to give back to those people is the reward."
