VIDEO: Crashes slow traffic on snow-covered interstates in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Heavy snow is impacting the St. Louis area.

Nearly a half-a-foot of snow fell on the city Friday. The snow backed up traffic on I-44 and I-64 during the city's busy rush hour. Some stayed parked on the interstate for hours because of crashes. Firefighters and others physically pushed cars out of the snow.

National Weather Service meteorologists predict some spots in St. Louis could see up to 13 inches of snow before the storm moves out Sunday.
