A Seymour woman has seen a sudden burst of internet fame after her video of a black bear went viral. Barbara Woodruff says she had just stepped outside to bring a pair of tennis shoes in from the rain last week when she noticed something unusual standing just a few feet away.

"I happened to bend down to pick it up and the bear was standing right there where the white chair is," says Woodruff.

"She came running in the door yelling at us, we were on the couch, we thought she was just trying got get us up," says Barbara's grandson Cole Woodruff.

A Black bear that had made two previous visits had returned. Woodruff's first instinct was to start filming.

"It played with the deer as you can see in the video, it walked down there and bit its rear end and came around and bit its nose then it stood up and just finally knocked it over and it acted like, what the hey," says Barbara.

In just one week the video that Barbara posted of the black bear playing in her yard has gotten more than 20,000 views and 500 shares on Facebook.

"I was amazed at that," says Barbara.

Now Woodruff is doing what she can not to encourage the bear to return.

"I do throw scraps over the fence, now I've been putting everything in a sack in the freezer to haul off so I don't feed it," says Woodruff.
