WWII planes land in Branson for the annual Air Power History Tour

Branson, MO. — Pieces of World War II history are landing at the Branson Airport for the annual Air Power History Tour by the Commemorative Air Force. The event is scheduled for September 18 through 22.

From the B-29 Super Fortress to the Boeing Stearman, several planes will be on display. They'll also have a flight simulator, aircraft tours, and air shows. Guests to the event can even take a ride on the planes.

The tour honors the men and women who served on these planes during the war, often under difficult and uncertain circumstances to help protect our nation's freedom.

“It was a war. And people will say to me, 'Well, why did they do that?' Well, there was a war on. And they were willing to sacrifice people, and equipment to achieve a military purpose that allowed us to win the war,” Crew Member Paul Maupin said.

The event will take place at the Branson Jet Center ramp located at Branson Airport, 130 Wright Brothers Road, Hollister, Missouri. Daily access is $20 for adults and $8 for children age 10 through 17. Ages 9 and under are free. Gates open 9am to 5 pm. Free cockpit tours of the iconic Boeing B-29 Superfortress and the B-24 Liberator are free with admission when the planes are not flying.
