Springfield, Mo. -- A town hall will be held in Northwest Springfield tonight. The community will talk about ways to improve their neighborhood.
Zone 1 Councilwoman Phyllis Ferguson will be holding the town hall at Tom Watkins Park, at 2100 W. High Street.
There will be a panel of experts from the City of Springfield and Southwest Missouri who will answer questions.
Ferguson plans to talk about crime, safety and nuisance properties in the neighborhood.
"Those are the prime topics that people feel they are affected by, and are affected by, in zone 1, in North Springfield," Phyllis Ferguson, Zone 1 Councilwoman, said. "So being able to discuss those, and like I said earlier, look for solutions and ways to resolve some of those problems are primary for improving zone 1."
Ferguson hopes by holding this town hall it will help fix the top issues people in her area are facing right now.
The town hall will start at 6:30 p.m. and it's important to remember to bring a lawn chair.
There will also be a potluck dinner starting at 6:00 p.m. and after the town hall there will be a ribbon cutting for the park upgrades like the new play structure, walking trial and restroom facility.
If there is rain the town hall will be moved to the Northview Center, 301 E. Talmage.
