Springfield neighborhood on edge after drive-by shooting

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- An early morning drive by shooting startled people living on High Street in Springfield.

"I think it was my cousin and his roommate," said Christina Simpson.

Simpson lives with her mother on the northwest side of town. She said she was lying in bed when she heard shots fired outside.

"I woke up to pop pop pop and I went to get my mom," she said.

Simpson said she had a falling out with her cousin and that he's been targeting her for the past few weeks.

"He smashed my window truck in, sliced all my car tires," she explained.

Simpson said that her cousin has an aggressive temper.

"They had texted me a few days before saying all hell was going to break lose," she said.

Neighbors said they are fed up with what's happening on their street and hope the police arrest someone soon.

"It makes me scared a little bit because I live by myself," said Sylvia Wilson.

Wilson lives nearby. She said her street has always been quiet.

"This is a nice neighborhood and I would hate to have someone coming around shooting it up," she said.

Police are continuing to investigate.

No arrests have been made.
