Rebuilt McDonald's to open Friday in west Springfield

A new McDonald's at the same location in west Springfield will reopen Friday morning. A fire closed the restaurant in July of 2018 at Sunshine and Campbell. Owner Andy Ruprecht says this McDonald's will feature the newest technology inside to help get you in and out more quickly. The restaurant will have a cafe-like design, with an outdoorsy feel to match its neighbor Bass Pro. The restaurant is hiring even more employees for after the opening too. "So we're looking to hire approximately a hundred employees," said Ruprecht. "We've already been going through that process and we have about 50 or so that we currently have hired so we are going to continue hiring from the day we open for quite some time to try to get enough staff to be able to service the needs of the customers." The McDonald's restaurant officially begins serving customers at 7 a.m.
