Woman accused of trying to kill sister by setting her mattress on fire

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) - Kentucky police say a woman is under arrest after trying to kill her sister in a house fire.

According to Louisville authorities, Addison Brown, 22, is facing charges that include arson, attempted murder and domestic violence.

Police said she lit her sister’s mattress on fire while she was sleeping on it.

Louisville police said the sister woke up to parts of her room on fire and had to use a pillow to stomp out the flames.

Additionally, four others were inside the residence at the time of the fire, including a minor.

Investigators said they found messages showing that Brown set the fire intentionally in an attempt to kill her sister.

Brown was booked into the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections with her initial court appearance scheduled for Friday.
