CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KY3) - Two people and a dog are safe after a swift water rescue in northwest Camden County Sunday night.

Rescuers were called to the Fiery Fork Conservation Area east of Climax Springs just after 10 p.m. When they arrived, they found the water rising quickly.

The Northwest Fire Protection District had two rescuers go into the water. Other teams were deployed with ropes to help secure the individuals and the dog until the Missouri State Highway Patrol launched their rescue boat to bring them to safety.

The Northwest Fire Protection District was assisted on scene by the Coffman Bend Fire Association, the Missouri State Water Patrol, Mercy Ambulance, and the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.

No injuries were reported.

The Northwest Fire Protection District reminds the public to never attempt to drive or walk through flooded areas and to be aware that rising water can quickly become powerful and unpredictable.
