Oasis at Lake of the Ozarks prepares for first-phase opening
OSAGE BEACH, Mo. (KY3) - Construction is underway at Oasis at Lake of the Ozarks, where park leaders say eight of the amusement park’s 12 rides have been erected.
The first phase is expected to open by mid-April next year, with the amusement park, an arcade, and a parking garage.
“It’s really moving quickly now,” Managing partner Fred Ross said. “And the team has just done a fantastic job. Brickman, as well as all of the subcontractors, have just really done a fantastic job. I couldn’t have been happier.”
Operating partner Todd Schneider says the project faced construction delays in spring 2025, but crews are making progress.
“We had some challenges, some hurdles,” Schneider said. “But we got through them now, and that’s in the rearview mirror.”
Schneider says the park plans to have free admission and no additional parking fees for all guests, including 300 boat slips for guests.
“It’s one of the largest direct investments in tourism in the history of the state of Missouri, and we’re proud to bring this thing online,” Schneider said. “It’s been years in the making, and finally there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.”
Nearby Dog Days Bar and Grill restaurant owner Mark Barrett says he expects the attraction to bring customers throughout the year.
“Thanks for the area and to bring in some off-season traffic, as well as in-season, and I think it’s going to be great for the whole area,” Barrett said.
Traffic has been a concern for some people in the area. Schneider said park leaders have completed traffic studies with MoDOT and are planning to add a traffic signal on Jeffrey’s Road.
“We’ve planned out the days,” Schneider said. “So we know the inflow and the outflow of all the cars.”
The Osage Beach Board of Aldermen is reviewing a bill that would allow the park to be a part of an entertainment district.
According to Schneider, the project’s approval as part of an entertainment district would allow open containers throughout the amusement park and at Dog Days Bar and Grill.
For restaurant owners like Barrett, he sees a great benefit in being neighbors with the amusement park.
“They have three or 400 boat slips and lots of parking, and we do too,” Barrett said. “So it should be good for both of us.”
Park leaders say the indoor water park is expected to open in October 2027, with the Marriott hotel planned to open as soon as April 2028.
