FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Warm & quiet Friday & weekend lined up
Watching a few systems next week
After a chilly morning in the 40s and 50s, all across the Ozarks are enjoying a beautiful Friday afternoon with temperatures climbing into the upper 70s to nearly 80 degrees under mostly to partly sunny skies.

And the good news? This pleasant pattern sticks around through the weekend. An upper-level ridge of high pressure is keeping our skies quiet and rain chances away.

Saturday will feel nearly identical to Friday, with morning lows in the 50s (some 40s in low-lying areas) and afternoon highs returning to the upper 70s to about 80 degrees. A light south to southeast breeze at 6-12 mph will keep conditions comfortable throughout both days.

When the pattern changes
Sunday will remain quiet, but that’s when things start to shift. The upper-level ridge begins breaking down, allowing weather systems to finally move back into the region.

A storm system will approach late Monday night and move through Tuesday. However, the best moisture looks to split to our north and southwest, so most of the Ozarks may see only isolated showers under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Don’t expect significant rainfall from this system.

After a quiet Wednesday, another system we’ve been tracking for around Halloween may arrive earlier than originally expected. If that projection holds, we could see a few showers Thursday with a better rain chance Friday. Halloween next Saturday looks dry.

Temperature trends
Temperatures will remain mild through Sunday, with lows in the middle 50s and highs in the upper 70s. Next week starts cool but not cold, with lows in the lower to middle 50s most days. Highs will range from the middle 70s on Monday to a quick dip into the lower 70s on Tuesday, then warming back to the upper 70s Wednesday. By Thursday, highs drop to around 70 degrees, with the coolest day arriving Friday with highs in the middle 60s.
