SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Spire natural gas customers in Missouri could see higher bills if state regulators approve the company’s request to increase rates.

The Missouri Public Service Commission says Spire is seeking a rate increase that would raise its annual revenue by about $200 million.

Potential impact on customers

Spire estimates average bills would increase by about $10 in western Missouri and $13 in eastern Missouri.

The company says the increase is needed to continue modernizing the state’s natural gas system and improve safety and reliability.
