SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3)— Those interested in the history behind Sequiota Park’s cave system now have the chance to explore it.

The Springfield-Greene County Park Board hosted guided cave tours on Saturday and will continue the tours on Sunday. The cave tours happen twice a year, in November and March.

“So we go back about a thousand feet into the cave, we see lots of stalactites, sometimes some different biology, like grotto salamanders, some fish in the creek, all sorts of cool stuff,” said Justin Smith, a supervisor of Outdoor Initiative for the Park Board.

The tour is open to children four years old and up and runs Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

You can register here. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for youth.
