Children’s Miracle Network: Meet Paislee Arnold

LEBANON, Mo. (KY3) - Paislee Arnold is a very energetic baby and seems to get into everything!

“I think she’s the baby that just loves to explore anything, figure out how everything works,” said her mom, Jazmine Arnold. “She loves to take things apart to figure out how they work.”

Jazmine had gestational diabetes while she was pregnant.

Paislee started having trouble right after she was born.

“She couldn’t eat, so we ended up having to go to the NICU and she had to learn to eat. Drink out of a bottle, that was 12 days of that,” Jazmine said.

Tests revealed that Paislee had mild hearing loss. She also has a condition affects her balance.

Paislee also has dysphagia, which makes it difficult for her to swallow, so she needed expensive formula.

Jazmine said Paislee would sometimes choke while drinking and even stopped breathing on one occasion.

“We ended up getting her back conscious, where she was up and alert and then we ended up going to the PICU and she ended up having walking pneumonia which was a residual of her aspirating and it getting into her lungs,” Jazmine said.

A friend told Jazmine and her husband, Sullivan, about Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. They were approved.

CMNH covered medical bills, travel expenses, meals, prescriptions, and Paislee’s hearing aids.

“It was a big life changer because now she’s able to get the help she needs properly, so like the speech therapy and stuff like that,” Jazmine said.

Paislee enjoys her toys and playing with her two older brothers.

Her parents can concentrate on Paislee’s well-being without having to stress about the bills thanks to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

“I didn’t realize how much of a difference it made. If that makes sense, like even just for her hearing aids, it made a big difference on us and for her because now it’s improving her life,” Jazmine said.
