Christian school employee charged with sexually assaulting student
ST. CROIX COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU/Gray News) - A man is accused of sexually assaulting two students he met while working as a school employee in Minnesota.
Derrick Pfeffer, 42, is charged with 10 felonies in St. Croix County, Wisconsin:
- Repeated sexual assault of the same child (at least three violations of first- or second-degree sexual assault)
- Three counts of child enticement for sexual contact
- Three counts of sexual assault of a child by a person who works or volunteers with children
- Soliciting a child for prostitution
- Grooming a child for sexual activity by a person in a position of trust
- Exposing a child to harmful descriptions
According to a criminal complaint filed Friday, Oct. 2, the victim was 15 when the alleged assaults began.
The complaint says Pfeffer formerly worked as a learning center supervisor at Hope Christian Academy in St. Paul Park, Minnesota, where the victim was a student.
Pfeffer faces similar child sex crime charges in a separate Minnesota case. The victim in that case was 14 at the time of the alleged offenses.
If convicted in Wisconsin, Pfeffer faces up to 40 years in prison, a $100,000 fine or both.
