Branson, Mo., aquarium sets world record with giant Santa hat atop octopus

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Aquarium at the Boardwalk set a Guinness World Records title for the largest Santa hat sculpture after placing the oversized decoration atop its 55-foot-tall octopus, Aquarius.

The aquarium set the record Friday, Nov. 6, during the opening of its Christmas Under the Sea holiday experience. An official Guinness World Records adjudicator verified the attempt.

Aquarius overlooks Highway 76 in Branson. The record attempt coincided with the opening of Christmas Under the Sea, an indoor holiday experience and addition to Branson’s Ozark Mountain Christmas festivities.
