Metal fragments prompt Blue Buffalo dog food recall

Blue Buffalo is recalling cans of dog food due to aluminum contamination.

The company announced on its website that 12.5-ounce cans of Blue Buffalo Homestyle Recipe Healthy Weight, Chicken Dinner with Garden Vegetables may contain aluminum fragments. The UPC code on the cans is 8-40243-10017-0. The "best by" date on the bottom of the can is August 3, 2019.

The company did not reveal how many cans were affected by the recall. If you have the dog food, you can return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund, or call the company at 866-800-2917.
